The Teachers in My Life
I come from a family of educators and have had the privilege of hearing about both the rewarding moments and the challenges of teaching. I wouldn’t have discovered my calling without the inspiration of these two incredible individuals in my life.
The man on the left is my grandfather, Gene, and the man on the right is my father, Sean.
Gene was a high school chemistry teacher, and my childhood was filled with stories from his years in the classroom. Even after retiring, his passion for teaching continued as he became an accomplished curling coach. His achievements include coaching at two Olympic Games, a testament to his dedication and expertise.
My dad taught middle school, and I have fond memories of visiting him in his classroom. I always dreamed of being one of his students, but unfortunately, he left the profession before I had the chance. His unwavering support and guidance have inspired me to chase my passions and pursue a career in teaching.
